ESRB Ratings Help You Make the Right Choices

Fall is in full swing and the holiday shopping season will soon be upon us. With so many blockbuster game titles coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 in the next few months, it’s a great time to remind ourselves that – like television and movies – not all video games are right for all audiences. That is one of the reasons that Xbox has been a longtime supporter of our partners at the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and the Entertainment Software Association. They have created a public service announcement to help ensure people know that the ESRB ratings can be a helpful tool when making video game purchases.

We believe that it’s important that parents and caregivers have resources to make informed choices when it comes to the games and entertainment that their families enjoy. The
ESRB ratings help suggest what ages may be most appropriate for a particular game, and the ESRB also provides ratings summaries that will help parents decide if a game’s content is right for their family. With parental controls on Xbox 360, parents can decide what content is right for their family. We’re continuing this commitment to empowering parents with tools and information to make informed choices about the next generation of gaming and entertainment experiences on Xbox One.
