Acer Expands Its Predator Gaming PC Line

Acer’s next@acer Global Press Conference unfolded in New York today, and the company announced new notebooks, desktops and monitors in its powerful, award-winning Predator gaming line. The new Predator 17 X notebook and compact Predator G1 desktops are top-of-the line – which, of course, enables some fantastic Windows 10 gaming. If you’re looking for a new gaming PC that supports the latest and greatest new games, including Quantum Break, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Killer Instinct: Season 3, then look no further! The Predator line is also virtual reality-ready out of the box, ready for brand new VR devices coming from Oculus, HTC Vive, OSVR, and StarVR.

Here’s a closer look at each of Acer’s big announcements today.

Predator 17 X Notebook

The new Predator 17 X notebook brings overclocking and desktop-grade components to mobile gaming. It’s powered by a 6th Generation Intel Core i7-6820HK processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 graphics, a 17.3-inch G-SYNC panel (supporting resolutions up to 3840×2160), DDR4-2133 memory, and enterprise-level solid-state drives in a three-SATA-SSD RAID 0 array. All of this killer hardware – along with a custom triple-fan cooling system – delivers an uncompromising combination of power and portability. And with overclocking, gamers will enjoy class-leading turbo speeds of up to 4.0GHz for the CPU; up to 1310MHz for the GPU; and up to 3.7GHz for VRAM. In other words, it’s all the power you’ll need to run any game your heart desires.

The Predator 17 X notebooks will be available at leading retailers in North America in June with prices starting at $2,799; in Europe in June with prices starting at €2,499; and in China in May with prices starting at ¥39,999.

Predator G1 Desktop

The small-yet-powerful Predator G1 desktop supports full-sized NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics (up to Titan X), 6th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 64GB DDR4 memory, and 4K2K Ultra High Definition visuals – and it fits under one arm, so it’s perfect for taking to LAN parties. The Predator G1 also offers massive storage, including up to a 4TB (7200 RPM) hard disk drive or a 512GB solid state drive. Finally, for gamers interested in virtual reality: You can just plug in a VR headset and get ready to explore new worlds, with the Predator G1 leading the way.

The Predator G1 desktops will be available at leading retailers in North America in July with prices starting at $2,299; in Europe in June with prices starting at €1,199; and in China in July with prices starting at ¥10,999.

Predator Z1 Series Monitor

The new Predator Z1 series monitor is Acer’s first curved 27-inch gaming monitor (with 30- and 31.5-inch models also available), featuring NVIDIA G-SYNC technology and a host of other top gaming features. The Z1’s tight 1800R curve makes it easier than ever to get fully immersed in the action – it enhances the sense of depth, and provides a wide field of view and a broad viewing angle. Acer’s G-SYNC technology matches the monitor’s refresh rate with the PC’s powerful GPU, to eliminate screen tearing and minimize stuttering. The Z1 monitor also includes other gaming features such as AcerVisionCare and BlueLightShield to lessen eye fatigue, as well as GameView, which enables special settings such as dark boost (which fine-tunes visuals for more details in darker scenes), and aim point assistance to help get the jump on opponents and land those perfect shots.

The Predator Z1 monitors will be available at leading retailers in North America in June with prices starting at $599; in Europe in June with prices starting at €599; and in China in May with prices starting at ¥4,999.
