The Turing Test Available Now for Xbox One

I’m so happy to announce here on Xbox Wire that today The Turing Test has launched on Xbox One! We’ve had some great previews from the public and the press at events around the globe about the game. The feedback we received allowed us to really refine the entire experience to the game’s final release we have today. Hopefully you’ll be able to see that effort with the carefully refined gameplay curve. We really wanted players to be able to pick up the game and just learn how to play without any tutorial texts. Solving the puzzles of The Turing Test is all about trusting your instincts as a player, especially as the puzzles are designed in a way that only a human could solve them.

We’ve been working on the game for over one year, which is actually pretty fast in terms of the size of the game we aimed to produce. It’s a necessity for us as an indie developer to be smart with our development time and maximize the amount of content you get as a player, so it’s great to see players getting so stuck into the story and the world of The Turing Test.

Our first puzzle game, Pneuma: Breath of Life, was the first Unreal Engine 4 game on Xbox One. It took 6 months of development in a closet of an office whilst we worked crazy hours at bars part time to fund development. Enough people enjoyed that game for us to be able to continue as a studio and drop the bar jobs, so we knew after release we wanted to take that second chance to make something truly unique and improve on our last efforts in every way. This meant developing a super refined gameplay curve, beautifully polished graphics, tight and tangible controls and gameplay mechanics, as well as a stronger and more characterful story. We can’t wait for you to delve into the puzzles of The Turing Test to see how players react to the story twists and decide to ‘Solve the Human Problem’.

As an added bonus for gamers, the money from every single sale of The Turing Test goes directly into the budget of our next game, the World War II shooter Battalion 1944.

The Turing Test is available right now, and we hope you enjoy it!
