The Road to the Madden Championship Continues With the Madden Challenge

With the 2017 Madden Bowl in the rear-view mirror, the next stop on the road to the 2017 Madden Championship is the 2017 Madden Challenge in Burbank, California, powered by Xbox.

$150,000 Is on the Line For 16 Finalists

The 2017 Madden Challenge is the third of four Majors in the Madden NFL 17 Championship Series, showcasing 16 of the best Madden competitors all looking to be declared champion and go home with the biggest share of the event’s $150,000 prize. This event utilizes “Draft Champions,” a game mode in Madden NFL 17 that allows players to control all aspects of their team. Competitors must choose players, coaches, playbooks, and uniforms during a 15-round draft. Once competitors have set their lineup, which could even include legend players like Emmitt Smith or Randy Moss, they head onto the virtual gridiron.

New Rivalries Will Form, Old Rivalries Will Return

Fans both old and new are in for a treat as the Madden Challenge will pit established veterans like Reginald “iG Boogz” Brown, Eli “TrueBoy” Clayton, Michael “Skimbo” Skimbo, and 2017 Madden Bowl Champion Chris “DubDotDubby” McFarland against new talent entering the major stage for the first time.

And there’s some unfinished business between Skimbo and the man known as “Dubby.” During the Madden Bowl finals, Dubby was trailing by 10 points against Skimbo, but stormed back in the fourth quarter. Rather than kick the field goal to tie the game at fourth down, he ran for the win and got it! Skimbo has been looking for revenge ever since, and will get his chance as the two meet on Day 1 in Group B.
