Netflix Comes to Xbox One

As you undoubtedly already know, Netflix is coming to Xbox One. Given its status as one of the Xbox 360’s most beloved offerings, getting the popular streaming service on Xbox One was a no-brainer, but we wanted to make sure that we offered a Netflix app that is a perfect fit for Xbox One.

In case you didn’t know,
Netflix lets you watch a wide variety of TV shows and movies for just $7.99 a month, including many popular titles and exclusive series such as “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black.”

We love Netflix and we know many of you love Netflix too, so we figured now is the perfect time to talk about just three of the many great features that you can get with Netflix on Xbox One:

Achievements have long been a part of the Xbox universe, giving players fun reasons to try new and different things in their games. With Xbox One, we’ve extended this philosophy to our non-gaming offerings with the addition of Media Achievements. Now you can earn bragging rights for what you do while you watch Netflix by rating titles, binging on a series or watching frequently.

You can use your voice to fire up the Netflix app and start playback, as well as use gestures to swipe through your favorite movies in My List or browse through the dozens of genres available for your viewing pleasure. If you like, you can also use a controller to navigate, but we think voice and gesture make it as much more futuristic experience, like you’re in the sci-fi show you’re about to watch.

For the multitasking media junkies out there, Netflix supports the Xbox One’s new Snap feature, allowing you to watch movies and TV shows while simultaneously doing another activity. At last, you can watch “Breaking Bad” while putting the pedal to the metal in an orange and black supercar in “Forza Motorsport 5.”

Netflix on Xbox One is an experience like no other, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy it for yourself beginning on Nov. 22.
