Xbox Celebrates Forza Horizon 2 Release with Lamborghini, Boys & Girls Club and Hot Wheels
Yesterday, Xbox released the newest addition to the award-winning Forza franchise – Forza Horizon 2. To celebrate, Xbox teamed up with Lamborghini and Hot Wheels to host “Kids into Car Lovers Day,” an event designed to foster youth creativity and car passion, at the Santa Monica Boys & Girls Club – the first event of its kind for three of the world’s most iconic and recognizable consumer brands.
With the rise of ride-sharing services, smartphones and other technologies, young people are driving less than ever, and the days when kids tacked their favorite supercar onto a wall poster are quickly fading into the rear view. To reignite car passion, Xbox hosted the first-ever “Forza Design Challenge,” inviting several hundred kids from across 10 Boys & Girls Clubs to create their most imaginative custom paint jobs for the Lamborghini Huracán. Three lucky winners were chosen to see their design brought to life in Forza Horizon 2, which were unveiled at Kids into Car Lovers Day. The winning designs will be available to all Forza Horizon 2 owners as free downloadable liveries in the future.
Also during the event, the kids got a chance to play Forza Horizon 2 and see how the winning designs would be featured in the game. Capping off the event, a parade of flashy Lamborghini vehicles arrived to deliver Hot Wheels toys “Santa Claus”-style to the kids!
