A Closer Look at Episode 2 of “Halo: Nightfall”

“Halo: Nightfall,” the five-part Halo series airing exclusively on Xbox and Windows 8.1 via the Halo Channel, kicked off last week with its premiere episode, and today, the story continues with episode two, “Sourced From Hell.” The full series is included as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection at no additional cost.

Let’s recap. Last episode, the ONI operatives – led by Agent Locke – were caught in a biological attack on the colony world of Sedra. Their search for the answers to this deadly attack brought them to something they never thought they’d find: a fragmented piece of a Halo ring.

Now, Locke and team must join forces with the Sedran Colonial Guard to travel to the surface of the Alpha Shard, and stop the spread of this deadly new element by blowing it up with a Havok bomb. Time is ticking though, as the shard’s orbit around a nearby sun, will turn the ancient artifact into a furnace, killing anyone left on its surface.

Episode two of the five-part series ramps up the action and suspense, pitting the ONI squad against increasingly deadly obstacles in a race to save lives, and exploring the conflicts between the UNSC and Sedran forces. The action scenes are intense and tightly shot, and you’ll get a chance to see different sides of the characters you met in Episode One.

This episode of “Halo: Nightfall” is now available on the Halo Channel. If you missed episode one, catch up on it, and check back every week for the next three parts of the epic Halo story. And here’s the rest of the schedule for “Halo: Nightfall,” so you’ll never miss an episode!
