R.B.I. Baseball 15 Adds Modern Innovation to Classic Gameplay

Baseball season is nearly here, and with it comes the world’s greatest pastime: old-school baseball video games. R.B.I. Baseball 15 is back for a second year of nostalgia-inducing sports goodness, and this year it’s made a number of improvements based on fan feedback.

First off, online multiplayer has been added. This is the most requested feature for the game by far, you can now play against your friends on Xbox Live and hash out those baseball rivalries… or create some new ones. Padres vs. Mariners? Sure, why not!?

R.B.I. Baseball 15 is looking significantly better than last year’s edition. Player animations have been motion-captured, adding a new level of realism to their movements on the field. The ballparks are far more faithful, with lots of small details that result in them embodying their real-life counterparts that much more.

Hardcore baseball fans are some of the biggest stat fanatics ever, and
R.B.I. Baseball 15 has included a lot more numbers so you can track your favorite players. Statistics for batting average, on-base percentage, and much more are now visible while players are at bat. Stats are tracked for every player throughout the game, and across the baseball season.

In addition, the player ratings are more fleshed out, giving you more insight into where (and how) each player stacks up in the virtual MLB. Previously, players were rated on just a couple of stats, which harkened back to the days of the classic
R.B.I. games… but now, you get a much clearer picture of who your best players are.

A lot of smaller, less-noticeable improvements have been made to
R.B.I. Baseball 15, dancing the line between classic homage and modern-day baseball extravaganza. Things like ball drop physics and base throw button mapping might not stand out, but they combine with other features to create a better overall experience.

We’re pretty excited for
R.B.I. Baseball 15. It shows a ton of promise, and it’s a great example of game developers listening to fan feedback to make better games. It should be downloadable on Xbox One just in time for the start of baseball season!
