UPDATED: Xbox at gamescom 2015: Everything You Need to Know

gamescom 2015, the largest consumer gaming show in the world, is nearly upon us – and, as usual, Xbox will be there in full force. To kick things off, this year’s Xbox gamescom 2015 briefing starts on Tuesday, August 4 at 4:00 p.m. CEST (10:00 a.m. EDT). The 60 minute live show will be hosted by Larry Hryb, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson, Graeme Boyd, Xbox Live’s AceyBongos, and Julia Hardy, and will include guest stars and industry elites, including Head of Xbox Phil Spencer and guests from top game studios that are creating amazing games for Xbox One and Windows 10. Xbox Daily: LIVE @ gamescom will be streamed live on Xbox One, on Xbox.com (desktop and on mobile), and on Xbox 360. Each show will also have interactive experiences created just for fans watching live on Xbox One. Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2015 If you’re going to be in the Cologne, Germany area before and during the show, we’ve got some great news: you could be one of 500 lucky fans to attend Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2015 from Tuesday, August 4 through Wednesday, August 5! These 500 fans will kick the week off with exclusive access to the “Xbox FanFest Showcase” the night of Tuesday, August 4. Get hands-on with the best games lineup in Xbox history before any other gamescom attendee. The Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2015 ticket also includes: • A secret Wednesday day-time activity. • VIP Access to the very first Xbox Party on the Rhein on Wednesday, August 5. Take an evening cruise while enjoying an epic Xbox event, just for our fans. • Exclusive fan swag and Xbox-branded backpacks. • Meet and greet some of the industry’s top developers, leaders and influencers. How can you get an Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2015 ticket? Fans can begin lining up for tickets at the Gloria Theater in Cologne, Germany, beginning at 2:00 p.m CEST on Tuesday, August 4 until all tickets are taken. The full address for the Gloria Theater is: Apostelnstrasse 11, Cologne, NW 50667, Germany. Please note that you’ll need to be over 18 years of age and that you’re limited to one ticket per person. Halo 5: Guardians gamescom Invitational by ESL Finally, this year’s Halo 5: Guardians gamescom Invitational by ESL will take place on Friday, August 7 beginning at 3 p.m CEST (9 a.m. EDT) in the ESL Arena on the gamescom show floor. The Invitational will provide fans with a first look at high-stakes Arena gameplay, which focuses on pure, skill-based 4v4 combat. Four top teams have been invited: Epsilon Esports (EU), Supremacy (EU), CAZ.Esports (EU), and OpTic Gaming (NA). The pro teams will have an opportunity to get reacquainted with Halo 5: Guardians Arena multiplayer during the week at gamescom, and on Friday, duke it out against one another in a four-team bracket. Be sure to tune into the action on the Halo Channel and Twitch.tv/Halo to see the first look at pre-launch Arena tournament goodness. Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2015 FAQ Where can I line up to get my Xbox gamescom FanFest ticket? Line up for tickets at the Gloria Theater in Cologne, Germany. Address is: Apostelnstrasse 11, Cologne, NW 50667, Germany. Map location is here. When can I get in line to pick up my Xbox gamescom FanFest ticket? Line up for tickets begins at 2:00pm (14:00) on Tuesday, August 4th, and will remain open until all tickets are taken. Will I be able to see the Xbox Briefing live? Unlike E3, our gamescom Briefing is held in a location with very limited seating and is reserved primarily for our key business partners.  Registered fans will be able to enjoy exclusive hands-on gameplay with the best games lineup in Xbox history at the first fan event, Xbox FanFest Showcase, Tuesday evening, August 4th. Is there an age-minimum to attend Xbox FanFest: gamescom 2015? Yes, every ticket-holder has to be over 18 years of age. Parents with children under the age of 18 will not be allowed. We will require a valid, government-issued, picture ID (driver’s license, passport) as part of the check-in. You will have to fill out a liability waiver form. How many Xbox FanFest tickets can I get? One ticket; one person – tickets are non-transferable and cannot be resold. If I’m traveling to Cologne, are there hotel accommodations? It’s up to the individual to pay for their own travel and hotel accommodations. What if I can only spend a couple of days in Cologne; can you tell me now what the other surprises are for the rest of the week? We are not ready to reveal any more surprises at this time.
