Candy Crush Saga Gives the Windows 10 Games Library a Sugar Rush
Windows 10 comes with lots of games one might expect. We’re talking classic titles like Solitaire and Minesweeper, which have been with gamers from the early days, and still hold a level of fun, just-one-more-game charm that cannot be denied. And now, these classics are joined by perhaps the most charming just-one-more-game craze to sweep the proverbial land in recent years. King’s Candy Crush Saga is not just coming to Windows 10; Candy Crush Saga will be automatically installed for customers that upgrade to or download Windows 10 during the launch and will be ready to play, right there in your Start menu.
Adding a new game to the Windows library is a big deal, but the fact that it’s one of the biggest games of the decade is a huge deal. For the uninitiated: Candy Crush Saga is a match-three puzzle game that’s set in the magically tasty world of the Candy Kingdom.
The game’s plot centers around a young girl named Tiffi, who – along with her pal Yeti – explores this wondrous and delicious world. Along the way, they stop to help some quirky characters, including the mischievous Bubble-Gum Troll who’s intent on causing havoc in the Kingdom.
Candy Crush Saga challenges players to switch and match sweets in combinations of three or more to gain points and other bonuses as they progress through the episodes. There are lots of power-ups and special candies that players can use to help them out in their puzzle-packed quest, and the game currently has over 1000 levels to beat, along with an additional 600 levels that can be devoured when players unlock the ‘Dreamworld’ map at level 50. And don’t expect to get bored anytime soon – new levels are added to the game every few weeks.
While Candy Crush Saga has all but become synonymous with mobile gaming, it started on the PC. Since its launch in 2012, Candy Crush Saga has become one of the biggest Facebook games ever, and one of the most popular mobile games of its time. It’s a perfect fit for Windows 10.
Candy Crush Saga certainly stands out amongst the other Windows 10 games, too. Of course, both Minesweeper and Solitaire have retained their iconic simplicity – by contrast, Candy Crush Saga is a sweet treat on the eyes and the ears, with brightly colored graphics, a great soundtrack, and lots of flash and pizazz. It represents a new, exciting generation of bite-sized gaming.
If you’re snagging Windows 10 during the launch period, head to your Games folder and check out Candy Crush Saga. And if you’re a fan of King’s other games, we have great news for you: They’ll be bringing more games to Windows 10 in the future, giving you many opportunities to play a whole lot of awesome games whenever you have a spare moment and want to be entertained.
