Get Behind the Wheel of Forza Motorsport 6 at the Petersen Automotive Museum

The Forza Motorsport Racing Experience Gallery is now open to the public as part of the renovated Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, one of the premiere auto museums in the world and the largest in the United States. Anyone in L.A. or headed there for the holidays should go check it out!

The museum’s Forza experience is featured in a 1,500 sq ft permanent gallery with 10 racing sleds and three Xbox kiosks all running a custom built demo of Forza Motorsport 6, featuring eight distinct experiences with vehicles from the museum’s collection. On the opposite wall is a collection of community images from Forza Motorsport 6. Along the back wall are details of how games are made, and a display case with artifacts from Turn 10 Studios and Xbox.

In addition, the museum and the Microsoft store recently hosted “Race for The Record,” an event where Forza Motorsport 6 players came together for a chance to win a 2016 Ford Mustang and to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title. In attendance were 11 gamers from across the globe who were paired with racecar drivers from Ford Performance teams including Brian Deegan, Austin Cindric, Bubba Wallace, Jade Buford, Ryan Blaney, Billy Johnson, Ryan Truex, Tyler Reddick, Daniel Hemric, Ryan Briscoe and Ryan Reed. Check out the Microsoft store video to witness the head-to-head competition.

The contestants raced as a team across three tracks with three specific cars in three very different conditions. The winning team was made up of Alexandre Arnou from France and his partner Austin Cindric, with a total time recorded officially by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS as 100 minutes, 125 seconds (102 minutes, 5 seconds). All of the other contestants and professional drivers from that night are recognized for making an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS record attempt.

The Petersen Automotive Museum is located at the center of U.S. car culture in Los Angeles, situated along the famous Wilshire Boulevard Museum Mile.
