Halo 5 Guardians Super Fiesta

Halo 5 Kicks Off Weekend with Super Fiesta and HCS Pro League Qualifier

It was a busy time for many Halo players last weekend, who got their first chance to try out Warzone Firefight beta – the ambitious new multiplayer mode coming to Halo 5: Guardians this summer. For many, the Warzone Firefight Beta provided a chance to call-in rare and powerful REQS and work cooperatively with teammates to take down powerful Forerunner and Covenant forces.

This week the competition heats up once more with the arrival of the frenetic “Super Fiesta” Arena playlist and first HCS Pro League qualifier taking place at PAX East!

What is Super Fiesta?

Since its release earlier this year, Fiesta has been a strong fan-favorite, with Spartans equipping random primary and secondary weapons in chaotic Arena battles. Super Fiesta takes power weapon pandemonium to the next level by introducing legendary REQs to Arena for the very first time! The Magnum may be replaced by the deadly Whispered Truth, with silenced shots. The already-deadly Sniper Rifle may instead be the utterly lethal Nornfang, firing high-explosive rounds! The entire library of REQ power weapons could appear in anyone’s hands in Super Fiesta, available for one week only, starting today until April 28.

Halo Championship Series Pro League Qualifier at PAX East

Last week, 343 Industries and Xbox announced new details about the Halo Championship Series Pro League (HCS Pro League), a long-term partnership between 343 Industries and ESL to grow, nurture and evolve Halo esports at every level of competition. The first leg of the HCS Pro League begins in Boston, MA, where Evil Geniuses, Enigma6, Team EnVyUs and Optic Gaming will compete at PAX East this weekend in Halo 5: Guardians to secure a spot in the league.

If you’re planning on attending PAX East, be sure to stop by the ESL stage on Sunday April 24 at 12 p.m. ET to watch the tournament live! For those at home, you can watch all of the great Halo action on Twitch.tv/Halo; be sure to tune in earlier at 11:30 a.m. ET to catch the pre-game show, where casters Bravo, Strongside, Goldenboy and MrJoshuaGray will share their predictions and analysis on who they can expect to show up big in Boston.

Stay tuned to halo.gg and Xbox Wire for a recap of the competition on Monday.
