Explore the Uncharted Territory of World to the West This May on Xbox One

Hi folks! Rain Games here and we’re absurdly, unbelievably stoked to announce that a new continent, far to the left of the known world, has been discovered! These lands house the abandoned ruins of an ancient civilization and the countries of the old world are taking careful steps in exploring it, lounging on the outskirts of the wilderness, unaware of the dangers lurking below.

This is uncharted territory, but you’ll soon be able to explore its lush jungles, placid lakes and deep, dark caverns when our new game, World to The West hits Xbox One on May 5. It’s a new take on the top down action adventure genre — World to the West may be a game about people adventuring in the lush ruins of a long-forgotten civilization, but it has a bit of special sparkle to it.

There’s no sword swinging or arrow-shooting elves here. We’ve got folks who can mind control animals, kids burying themselves like wusses to avoid monsters, introvert castaways zapping said monsters with the power of science, and brutish aristocrats pummeling living turnips instead. Four heroes, four stories, one adventure!

Lumina is a Teslamancer, one of those weird people from the North who’ve tamed the power of electricity. Lost in the wilderness after a teleportation accident, she needs help to make it back home. Luckily, she’s armed with arcane technology that grants her superhuman agility. Swashbuckler-for-hire Teri has mind control animals, using them to fetch rare items for the highest bidder (she’s in way over her head after stealing an item with unimaginable power).

Knaus, a young boy working at a mining colony run by unsupervised children (yes, really), finds himself exiled after speaking out of turn. His survival relies on speed and cleverness rather than fighting off monsters outright. Lord Clonington has no such problems, being a brutish gorilla of a man from a long bloodline of muscular aristocrats. He’s in the New World looking for exotic beasts to fight for sport, and proves himself a handy ally to have around when big things need to be lifted, thrown, smashed or pummeled.

Together they form a shaky alliance under the guidance of a spry old mystic, so you’ll be switching between them as you run around, beat up animals (let’s just call ’em monsters for convenience), outsmart the rush of puzzles, and discover a plot to reawaken whatever it was that first ended this world, long ago.
