Return to the Legendary Island of Vvardenfell Today in The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

It’s time, Elder Scrolls fans, to return to the incredible island of Vvardenfell for all new adventures in The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind.

15 years after Bethesda Game Studios released the award-winning The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind –the first Elder Scrolls game for console, and, exclusively on Xbox! — you can return to the mushroom-festooned volcanic island of Vvardenfell and explore the home of the Dark Elves 700 years in the past.

Since ESO first launched on Xbox One in 2015, the team at ZeniMax Online Studios has worked to refine, improve, and add new gameplay experiences based on the feedback from you, the players. Today, TESO plays more like a traditional Elder Scrolls game than ever before, featuring all the same freedom of exploration and unique character building you have come to love in games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

This new Chapter is easily the biggest update ever for TESO, introducing a massive new zone, a new class  known as the Warden, a new small-scale, fast-paced PvP mode called Battlegrounds, a new 12-player Trial, and more than 30 hours of quests.

New to TESO? Don’t worry – Morrowind isn’t just for the most devoted veterans. Unlike traditional MMOs, TESO: Morrowind doesn’t require you to have a high-level hero to begin the new adventure. New and existing players alike can roll a fresh character and jump right into the Vvardenfell storyline from level 1.

And, of course, TESO vets can also continue their current characters. You can drop what you’re doing, ship out to Vvardenfell, and begin the new story right away.

Join any of the millions of other players online to adventure together, conquer World Bosses, Delves, and Trials as a group, or, if you want to play by yourself, save Morrowind on your own as you would in any other Elder Scrolls RPG.

But what is Vvardenfell and where should you go when you step off the boat? There are so many amazing places to see and wax nostalgic from TESIII, it’s hard to decide. Here are just a few key locales that you should check out right away:

Seyda Neen
The port town of Seyda Neen is the first place you will encounter (as it was in TESIII) and will set you off on your adventures. From Seyda Neen, the island of Vvarenfell will open up for you. Head East to Vivec City and Suran, or North to Balmora, Ald’ruhn, and Gnisis. Adventure awaits! Just make sure you clear customs, first. And you might want to take a peek out the back door of the Customs House to find your first Skyshard. Ssssh!

Vivec City
Named for the demi-god who resides there, Vvardenfell’s capital, Vivec City, is still under construction in the time of ESO: Morrowind. You’ll need to visit Vivec’s Palace to get into the main story, but also tkake time see the Hall of Justice, the Library of Vivec, and, most notably, the meteor “Baar Dau” that floats precariously above! Vivec City features a full suite of crafting stations, stores, and daily quest givers.

Sadrith Mora
On the eastern coast of Vvardenfell you’ll find the imposing mushroom towers of House Telvanni. Take your time investigating this island town, as the Telvanni sorcerers are highly secretive in nature. Keep an eye out for a certain lovesick Dark Elf as you roam the towers of Sandrith Mora. You might enjoy a rather unique introduction to Telvanni culture.

Halls of Fabrication / Tel Fyr
Think you’re ready for something a bit more challenging? Bring your best gear and Skills – along with 11 of your fellow outlanders — and hit the new 12-person Trial to help the Telvanni Sorceror Diyath Fyr investigate and shut down the Halls of Fabrication. As you navigate the dangerous halls and corridors of Sotha Sil’s creation, be prepared for a deadly challenge, as this Trial will push you and your team to your abilities.
