Matt Matt Salsamendi, one of the co-founders of Mixer and engineering lead on the platform at Microsoft, posted an article about Mixer HypeZone, an all-new dedicated channel for PUBG. Details below:
Hopefully you’re all just as eager for PLAYERUNKNOWN’s BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) arriving today as a console launch exclusive as we are! The quest for a chicken dinner has a new home on Xbox One, so get ready to grab your controller, prep your parachute and ready that frying pan. We know the competition will be fierce and can’t wait to see new PUBG Mixer streams, plus it’s never been easier to broadcast gameplay on your Xbox One: just start a game, navigate to ‘Broadcast & Capture’ tab, and press ‘Broadcast’.
In a PUBG match, making it into the top 10 comes with intense emotions: the circle’s shrinking and you’ve got your head on a swivel looking for movement anywhere around you… it’s pretty intense to say the least.
Today, we’re introducing the HypeZone PUBG Channel to beta, which celebrates these action-packed moments for streamers and viewers alike.
TheHypeZone PUBG Channel is the must-watch Mixer channel featuring the most exciting, down-to-the-wire PUBG action. HypeZone switches between Mixer streamers closest to winning the coveted Chicken Dinner, hosting the streamer until they either win or die. This gives viewers the opportunity to discover streamers of all levels during the most intense moments of the game.
Whether you and your closest friends are Co-Streaming a calculated squad assault, or you’re streaming a solo run to hundreds of viewers, HypeZone knows the distance between you and some tasty chicken, plus with Hosting 2.0, we’ve made it easy to follow those featured and cheer them on. Streamers will accrue all the views associated with their time on HypeZone, along with the added surprise visit of potentially hundreds of extra viewers when being featured!
We’re always keen to hear feedback on features. If you have a suggestion or just want to spread some love, let us know at @WatchMixer on Twitter or on Official Feedback Site. Your feedback is critical to evolving the Mixer experience as we continue to grow. We’ll see you around on Mixer!
