Gaming for Everyone Community Nexus Recap

Xbox was proud to host the first ever Gaming for Everyone Community Nexus during Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) 2019. We have been hosting networking events for communities of underrepresented game developers during GDC for a number of years, but last year was the first when we held two in the same venue. In 2018 the Women in Gaming Rally coincided with our first ever Gaming & Disability Community Reception. The response was incredible. The two communities came together and shared their experiences while learning from each other and everyone said, “More please!” We listened and created the Nexus. It wasn’t just us though, representatives from companies and organizations all over the industry responded and joined us in this endeavor to welcome game developers from many walks of life.

Programmers, producers, streamers, recruiters, employee resource groups, community non-profits and more hosted information stations to answer questions, share knowledge, and discover new opportunities. Over 250 gaming industry professionals came through and the energy in the room was incredible to experience.
