It’s a super exciting time for us all here at Ninja Theory. During the E3 2019 Xbox briefing, we were thrilled to finally share our next original game – Bleeding Edge – a 4v4 team fighter that combines 3rd person action combat with online team multiplayer, available with Xbox Game Pass for PC and Console. Our technical alpha is kicking off on June 27, so we’d love for players to head to bleedingedge.com and sign up to get involved.
Each fighter in Bleeding Edge is unique, but roughly fits into an Assassin, Support or Heavy archetype. There’s a mix of ranged and melee combat styles, and each character has an expressive kit of moves for players to explore and master. We’ve leant on our previous experience with combat games to make the action fast and fun, with stylish animation and a fluid feel. Bleeding Edge’s moment to moment gameplay is all about combos, dodging, timing and dexterity, but ultimately, good teamwork, synergy and strategy is needed to secure the win!
In addition to a diverse roster of fighters, Bleeding Edge features environmental hazards that are unique in every map. Players can yank opponents into an electric fence, charge them into the path of an oncoming train, or trap them in a raging fire pit! These hazards add some extra spice to the objective based game modes, and can be exploited to create cool plays, win big fights, and make unexpected comebacks.
Players are also able to create unique loadouts for each fighter via cybernetic mods. All mods are earnable through gameplay and allow players to tweak builds to suit their playstyle, counter enemies, or capitalize on the team’s composition. There’s also a bunch of hoverboards to unlock, each fully customizable with paintjobs, stickers and trails.
We are really looking forward to working together with the community to make Bleeding Edge awesome. This has been a passion project of ours at Ninja Theory for some time now, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this with our equally passionate fans.
We’ll have more to share on Bleeding Edge soon, but for now we’ll catch everyone at E3!
