Today marks a momentous occasion for Outriders — the full game is out now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One and with Xbox Game Pass!
Many of you played the free Outriders demo, so you know exactly what you’re in for. If this is the first time you’re hearing about our game, check out our previous Wire article that details exactly what Outriders is all about and what you can expect. The article also scopes out the details of the demo that lets you carry over your progress and achievements to the full game!
Now that Outriders is here, we’ve put together the “Six C’s” to keep in mind as you continue your journey across the planet Enoch:
Carry Over Your Characters and Progress
Your demo progress and characters will be waiting for you when you launch the main game. You don’t need to go through any complex transfer gymnastics! If you’d prefer to change your character appearance, don’t forget that you are also able to do that in the town hubs – no need to start over!
Check Your Stash
If you pre-ordered Outriders, make sure to check your stash for the Hell’s Ranger bonus equipment. And if you’ve spent a lot of time in the demo, chances are that you might have had some loot auto sent to your stash once your inventory is full. Your stash can be found in any hub, so make sure to check there when you get back into the game.
Craft, Craft, Craft
You will soon get access to Outriders extensive crafting system. This will allow you alter your gear’s levels, variants, mod combinations, and much more. In case you have some demo gear burning a hole in your inventory, I’d recommend dismantling, rather than selling it. Dismantling will provide you with resources, shards, and mods that you can work into other gear via the crafting system.
Player choice is at the heart of Outriders and something we take seriously across the entire experience. If you’ve played the demo, you’re familiar with the versatility of each class and the extra skills you unlock as you level — the full game will continue to push you to swap and explore new builds regularly. Player choice also extends beyond gameplay, and since the launch of the demo we’ve also added a toggle for motion blur which can be found in your settings menus.
Challenge Yourself Using the World Tiers
Seeing players farm the Outriders demo has been incredibly exciting for us and we hope that everyone will continue to enjoy hunting for Legendary gear in the full game. Now you’ll be able to crank your World Tier ever higher… so long as you’re able to survive in it. Pushing your World Tier will indeed increase your chances for rarer loot, but it will also bring with it greater difficulty and harder enemy encounters. Don’t worry if you spend some time at a certain World Tier level or even if you prefer to play at a lower World Tier — that’s completely normal!
Challenge Tiers are an additional difficulty modifier of the post-campaign Expeditions. They are separate from World Tiers and completing them is an essential requirement in progressing to the hardest expeditions in the game. Good luck.
Finally, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone in the Xbox community and at Xbox. Outriders wouldn’t be where it’s at today without the support each of you provided.
Back in December, we relied on the Xbox Insider Preview program to give a small number of players early access to the complete game and help us better understand the player experience and game balance. The cooperation and help of the Xbox Insider community was a fantastic example of how helpful it is for us developers to work closely with players to develop the games you want to play.
Over the past year, the team at Xbox have also been incredibly supportive of our plans to show Outriders to you in the most transparent way possible. We worked closely to ensure that players fully understand what Outriders is, without smoke or mirrors.
Considering all this, to deliver Outriders with Xbox Game Pass on launch day for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One just feels right. It’s a testament to the belief and support of everyone involved, and we cannot wait to journey across Enoch alongside each of you.
See you there, Outriders.
