Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles Cuts Through Xbox Starting Today
Become the blade that destroys demons! Ahead of its full launch this Friday, October 15, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is now available for those who ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game! You still have time to grab this edition as well, so be sure to visit the Xbox Store to see all the other great bonuses you’ll receive by upgrading.
Take up the sword as Tanjiro Kamado, a kindhearted boy who after selling charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human and kill the demon that massacred his family. A sorrowful tale of siblings in which the fates of humans and demons intertwine… begins now!

Whether you’re a long-time fan or a complete newcomer, The Hinokami Chronicles is a spectacular arena fighter from the team at CyberConnect2 that delivers plenty of exciting action and drama anyone can enjoy. From the gorgeous visuals to the highly fluid animation, this is a game you need to see to believe.
While seemingly simple on the surface, the combat in The Hinokami Chronicles is as complex as you want it to be, with combos, launchers, jump canceling, dodge canceling, parrying, push blocks, knockbacks, and more. Then you have a boost mode that increases your character’s strength, and to top it all off, there are the downright jaw-dropping super moves called “Ultimate Arts” attacks that are always a real sight to behold.
This is further expanded upon with players being able to select a companion to bring with them into battle. Now, the potential actions of your companion are tied to a two-part support gauge. Each support action consumes part of this gauge, whether you decide to call in your support to assist you, or by switching to that character.

Keep in mind, you and your support character share the same health bar, so some healthy strategy is key to succeed. Suffice to say, there’s plenty of depth to explore here, and we’re excited to see what players will be able to pull off amid combat.
We also have big plans following the launch of The Hinokami Chronicles as playable demons will be added to the Versus mode of the game in a series of free post-launch updates. Please stay tuned to the official Hinokami Chronicles website and social accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for all the latest!
