The Thaumaturge Hero Image

Step into the shadowy world of Wiktor Szulski, the enigmatic protagonist of The Thaumaturge, a character-driven RPG arriving on December 4, with a demo available on your Xbox right now. In this atmospheric journey through 1905 Warsaw, emotions can be traced, flaws can be wielded, and human imperfection sparks curiosity at every turn.

Wiktor is a thaumaturge—derived from the Greek for “miracle worker”—wielding mysterious, rare, and unsettling abilities seen only by a few. In our story, flaws represent the human imperfections that most of us try to hide or overcome. Born from trauma, pressure, or simple human nature, these flaws shape and distort the psyche.

Imagine individuals among us who can not only feel and track these flaws but also see them, attracting mystical beings called salutors. Once tamed, these beings join Wiktor in turn-based battles, unlocking new powers and enriching his character’s growth.

With a richly woven, story-driven focus, The Thaumaturge invites players to explore human nature through its characters, including real-life figures like Rasputin, the infamous Russian mystic. Drawn back to Warsaw to settle a family matter and reconcile with his sister, Wiktor uncovers not only secrets of his past but also the complex layers of a city in turmoil. While Wiktor’s past defines him, the story lets players make choices that shape his present journey and moral outlook.

In The Thaumaturge, we portray turbulent times, when Poland was divided by neighboring countries. And players will be able to form their own opinions on life in partitioned Poland, faith, and other themes. With multiple endings woven into the narrative, they’ll have the opportunity to shape Wiktor’s perception of these matters within predefined boundaries, all while experiencing a personalized story.

We believe The Thaumaturge offers an extraordinary RPG experience infused with history, standing out for its intricate themes, dark atmosphere, and unique twist of wielding human flaws. Check it for yourself with the demo, covering the story’s prologue, which is available now.
