Play For Honor for Free August 10-13 with Xbox Live Gold

If you’ve been holding back from storming the battlefields of For Honor, now’s your chance to take up arms as a noble Knight, brutal Viking, or skillful Samurai this weekend on Xbox One.

Beginning Thursday, August 10 at 12:01 a.m. PDT, Xbox Live Gold members can download For Honor from the Xbox Store for free and try the innovative Art of Battle system, with full access to For Honor‘s campaign and multiplayer.

The event runs until Sunday, August 13 at 11:59 p.m. PST, giving you four days to earn gear and build up any of the 14 Heroes, including two recent additions: the brawling Centurion and stealthy Shinobi, who are each available for 15,000 Steel, the in-game currency earned through playing For Honor.

Develop your reputation across 1v1, 2v2, or 4v4 multiplayer matches, and if you want to keep fighting after August 13, you can carry over your progress to the Standard, Deluxe, or Gold Edition of For Honor, available at a 50% discount on the Xbox Store from August 10 through August 20. If you choose to buy the game later, all your earned progress and achievements will remain.

The free weekend is also a perfect opportunity to dive into For Honor‘s unique approach to combat before the launch of Season Three: Grudge & Glory on August 15. The new season brings a huge update to For Honor, introducing gameplay balance tweaks, ranked duel tournaments, two new maps, and two new Heroes: the claymore-wielding Highlander and the lightly armored, trident-carrying Gladiator.

The new Heroes will be available immediately to Season Pass holders on Tuesday, August 15, or unlockable with 15,000 Steel each starting August 22. You can also get an early glimpse of Season Three’s content during the For Honor Season 3 Live Event: Grudge & Glory Reveal on Saturday, August 12 at 11 a.m. PST at twitch.tv/forhonorgame.
