From Josef Fares, creator of Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons, comes an exclusively co-operative adventure unlike anything you’ve played before. You and a friend will step into the shoes of Vincent and Leo, two inmates who hate each other but will do anything to escape prison.
A Way Out is a totally unique approach to co-op gameplay that must be played all the way through to the end by two people together. It’s best played between two friends in the same room via split-screen, but you can still play with any of your online friends without having to buy a second copy of the game. With the inclusion of the Friends Pass, anyone who purchases A Way Out can play through the entire game with anyone in their online friends list. Check out the official Friends Pass page for full details so you and your friends don’t make a double-purchase.
Just in case you thought breaking out of prison would be a piece of cake, you’ll have to switch up your gameplay constantly as you solve puzzles, complete minigames, talk, shoot, fight, drive, sneak, and run to freedom. And I bet you thought all it took was a rock hammer and a pinup poster.
Each of the two characters has their own storyline, and they each approach challenges in their own way. Some moments will have one character moving around and playing, while another must wait in a cutscene. Other sections require one player to create an opportunity or make a distraction while the other makes his move. It’s this teamwork-based gameplay and intertwining stories that makes A Way Out an experience you won’t soon forget which is available now on Xbox One and enhanced for Xbox One X.
