Defuse a Bomb with Your Friends in Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

We’re super proud to have launched Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes on Xbox One today! Defusing bombs isn’t something that can be done solo though, so I wanted to give you a rundown of what to expect. You’re going to need to cooperate with your friends to solve these perplexing puzzles before time runs out.

Pop quiz hotshot: there’s a bomb in front of you and you’ve got 5 minutes to defuse it. What do you do?

What do you do?

Gather the team

How would I handle it? I’m starting up a party chat and getting my friends on the line to help me out. They don’t need even need the game – they just need to go to www.bombmanual.com to get the Bomb Defusal Manual.

Or maybe you’ll decide to enlist some help in person. That works great too! Just make sure your friends have the manual and aren’t looking at the screen. Pull up the manual on your phone or tablet, or heck, you can even print it out! Remember printers?

Then it’s up to everybody to work as a team to figure out which wires to cut and which buttons to push on this uniquely generated bomb. Only you can see the bomb, and only they have instructions for how to defuse. The clock’s ticking and things are about to get intense.

Talk it out – fast!

Once your team is in place, it’s time to defuse some bombs. These puzzles are not for the faint of heart. You’ll start off slowly, describing how many wires you see, but soon there are also some strange symbols and an odd blinking light and oh no what does that sound mean?

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a game about communication and your skills will be put to the test. We designed these puzzles to trip you up and cause you to overlook crucial details. Make no mistake: the rules in the defusal manual are fair and they are always right. If you explode (and you will!), you need only look to each other to find out where the team went wrong. Did you miss the serial number? Did somebody say something ambiguous? Or do you just need to become more efficient as a team?

Exploding is part of the game. Each failure is an opportunity to learn, to respond to the challenge, and to improve. You’ll explode, you’ll guess at the last second, you’ll figure out a puzzle, you’ll yell at your team, you’ll curse whoever came up with Morse Code (it’s in the name) but if you stay calm, communicate efficiently, then you just might persevere.

I believe in you. Good luck.
