Who likes a road trip? Visiting places new, visiting places familiar, spending time with family, keeping an eye on petrol and maybe even getting your hands dirty to repair the car – this is exactly what Jalopy’s all about.
You’ll set out on a grand journey through the former Eastern Bloc with your uncle, driving a scrappy old car and navigating miles of tire changing, fuel burning, and carburettor busting through night and day, rain and shine. As you spend time playing Jalopy, you’ll become more and more accustomed to your Laika 601 Deluxe – but let’s give you a little insight now, so that you’re ready to jump behind the wheel and ignite the engine come October 31!
- Engine Block – Core to your Laika 601 Deluxe, the engine block condition impacts upon your acceleration and top speed. Make sure to keep your engine block in good health or you’ll take a hit to car performance.
- Carburettor – This is the part of the car which regulates fuel consumption. A well-maintained carburettor will result in less fuel being used up, saving you crucial deutschmark to spend on other parts.
- Fuel Tank – The Laika 601 Deluxe is running a 2-stroke engine, so you’ll want to add oil to the fuel mixture to keep the engine lubricated. Failing to do so will increase engine wear.
- Water Tank – It’s all too easy to get your windscreen dirty. You’ll need some water to spray on your windscreen to keep your vision clear, so make sure to check for any leaks or you could be caught out on the road without any water!
Watch the trailer towards the top of this article and you’ll have a good idea of what to expect on your road trip across Germany, The CSFR, Hungary, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Turkey. And now hopefully you have a basic understanding of your Laika’s car parts!
So, you’re all ready to go… but you never know what Jalopy’s procedurally generated world will throw at you. We can’t wait to hear all of your stories from out on the road come October 31!
