Ghost Recon Breakpoint AI Teammates, Live Event Coming in July Update
One of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s most-requested features is coming in a new update. Arriving July 15 for Xbox One, Title Update 2.0.1 will introduce AI teammates, giving solo Ghosts an opportunity to squad up if friends aren’t available. This new feature can be activated on the fly regardless of what’s happening in-game. On top of that, from cosmetics to physical attributes, your teammates can be completely customized down to their primary weapon, which influences how they engage enemies throughout Auroa. You can also issue orders to your teammates, telling them to hold, regroup, engage, or go to a designated point and seek cover. Of course, teammates can also perform revives, and the ever-popular sync shot is also available to get the drop on up to seven targets.
Whether it’s with AI teammates or not, Ghosts have a new live event, called Resistance, to tackle starting July 16. The Outcasts are looking for Ghost help in taking down some Sentinel forces; outposts and convoys are the primary targets, but the ultimate goal is to save prisoners and aid the Outcasts during their counterattack against Sentinel. Completing these events not only has an impact on the in-game world (more rebels will be active throughout Auroa), but also sets up a scenario for additional faction warfare between Sentinels, rebels, and the Wolves. In addition to changing the landscape, completing these missions can also earn you up to 14 exclusive rewards for your Ghost, including a variety of gear.
Xbox One owners who have yet to take the plunge into Auroa to take on the Wolves can do so for free on July 16, when the Ghost Recon Breakpoint Free Weekend becomes available for Xbox Live Gold members. You will also be able to try all of the new features introduced in Title Update 2.0.1 – which include AI teammates and the Resistance event – as well as Ghost Experience options that provide for a more realistic take on Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s action. If you purchase the game during the free weekend, all of your progress will carry over to the full version of the game.
