Asha Sharma is Chief Executive Officer of XBOX and an Executive Vice President of Microsoft. XBOX is one of the world’s largest entertainment companies, reaching more than one billion players each year and home to globally recognized franchises including Call of Duty, Candy Crush, Diablo, Fallout, Halo, Minecraft, The Elder Scrolls, and Warcraft, many of which have expanded into record-breaking film and television. Headquartered in Washington state, XBOX is the largest American employer of video game workers and one of the world’s largest game publishers.
Prior to becoming CEO of XBOX, Asha served as President of Product for Microsoft’s AI tools and application infrastructure. She led Microsoft’s platform through its transition to the AI era, spanning Azure, GitHub, and Visual Studio Code, with products supporting more than 180 million developers and hundreds of thousands of enterprises building AI applications and agents worldwide.
Asha has spent her career building platforms across consumer technology, developer ecosystems, and commerce. Before returning to Microsoft, she served as Chief Operating Officer of Instacart, helping lead the company through its initial public offering while scaling the business to profitability. Earlier, as Vice President of Product at Meta, she led communication products used by billions of people. She also served as Chief Operating Officer of Porch Group, where she helped build the company’s technology platform and data capabilities.
Asha serves on the boards of The Home Depot, Coupang, and The Paley Center for Media, and co-chairs the Federal Reserve’s Productivity and Jobs Task Force.
