Time Loader is a cute puzzle platformer bringing up your sweet childhood memories (if you grew up in the 90s) and forcing you to answer some serious time travelling questions. The developers put a lot of effort into making the controls enjoyable, and added lots of 80s and 90s Easter eggs for players to find throughout the game. Now, players can experience the game on Xbox on March 10th.
One of the main features of Time Loader is the environment, inspired by the everyday life we all saw in the fantasy films of Spielberg and Zemeckis. None of the developers lived in the house of a classic American teenager from the 80s and 90s, but they strived to recreate that nostalgic feeling from their favorite movies (a tribute to the heyday of VHS).
In the game, players are tasked with changing the storyline (you are programmed to do so by our creator, no worries!), and this entails serious consequences for all the characters. It is up to you, as a time travelling RC robot, to investigate what exactly happened in the past and what can be done to change it.
Time Loader has lots of objects that can be influenced, and even a small change in the past can have serious consequences in the future. Here, you can experience not just different endings, but hidden pieces of history and even secret locations. The game is an opportunity to explore and interact with the objects scattered around different parts of the house, and then face the consequences of your choice to change the past.
Your ultimate goal is to save your creator, Adam, from the accident that shaped his future. As a child, Adam trips over a toy, falls on his back and suffers a serious spinal injury. Every day, he asks the question: how would life have been if the accident hadn’t happened? He grew up and devoted his life to time travel, then created a robot and sent it back to 1995 – the year of the accident. And here you are, a little robot with a big task: change the future.
Time Loader is, first of all, a physical puzzle platformer, but not in the way you might expect. The atmosphere, the soundtrack and the story make it slow-paced and enjoyable for almost any player. From your perspective as a small robot with an impossible task, everyday household objects become your saviours. Shelves become bridges over perilous gaps – gramophones and bike pedals become the most helpful things in the room to help you traverse a difficult landscape. All of this makes the gameplay unlike any other.
Time Loader is already available on Xbox!
