Xbox Insider Release Notes

Hey Xbox Insiders! We have a new Xbox Update Preview coming to the Alpha ring. It’s important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles.

We continue to post these release notes, even when the noticeable changes to the UI are minimal, so you’re aware when updates are coming to your device. Details can be found below!

System Update Details:

New Features and Experiences

We have exciting news! Alpha users can expect something new coming to their Xbox Update Preview.

Audio

We have added a new option which allows you to mute startup sounds. To use it, navigate to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Additional options.

Home

A random subset of users will notice a new Search bar and link to Settings directly on the dashboard.

My Games & Apps

We have enabled a filter menu with a new look, which gives you more control over how you view your games and apps. You can now simultaneously apply multiple filters per category and clear all your filters with a single button press.

Settings – TV & Display

With today’s update, you can now specify when Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is enabled by choosing between Always On, Gaming Only, or Off.
