Donate to the CDC Foundation By Playing Xbox
Supporting organizations that are making a difference amidst today’s coronavirus pandemic is more important right now than ever. Many people are seeking ways to help through the activities and passions they’re doing from home, and gamers have a new and easy way to contribute with big results. Starting today, Xbox One owners in the U.S. will see on the home screen of their Xbox One a button to benefit coronavirus response efforts by easily donating to the CDC Foundation.
Here’s how it works: If you are not already a Microsoft Rewards member, sign up for free through the Microsoft Rewards app on your Xbox One or online at microsoftrewards.com and earn points simply by playing games on your Xbox. Then donate your Rewards points to the CDC Foundation. Hit the CDC Foundation button on the Xbox One dash to tell Microsoft you want to donate your Rewards points to the CDC Foundation, then Microsoft will match your donation one-to-one. 1,000 Rewards points is equal to $1 donated.
Xbox One owners can earn Microsoft Rewards by (but not limited to) completing the limited time “Do Your Part From Home” punch card, playing select new Xbox games and completing Xbox Game Pass Quests, renting and purchasing movies and TV through the Microsoft Movies & TV app, exploring new content and entertainment apps, and shopping through the Microsoft Store on their Xbox.
This puts the power to easily donate to the CDC Foundation into Xbox gamers’ hands and is available starting today.
The effort is inspired by Microsoft’s Give With Bing initiative that allows Microsoft Rewards members to donate points to more than 1 million nonprofits. Over the years, Microsoft Rewards members have donated millions of dollars to tons of amazing organizations. We’re honored to help empower gamers to contribute to CDC Foundation’s coronavirus response efforts through their passion for playing.
