The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor

Become a Vampire and Experience a Gothic Adventure in Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor on Xbox One

With The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor and Update 26, you can become a powerful Vampire and experience a tale that is both a compelling standalone story and part of the larger, Dark Heart of Skyrim year-long adventure.

In the upcoming Greymoor Chapter’s main questline, you must investigate the emergence of a monstrous new threat that plagues the isolated kingdom of Western Skyrim. With a dark, brooding tone that leans heavily into gothic themes common to mystery and horror narratives, Zenimax Online Studios has crafted a storyline full of intrigue and danger for you and your companions to unravel.

At the center of this new story is a legion of monsters, rising up from the depths of Blackreach and threatening the home of the Nords. Comprised of vampires, werewolves, giants, witches, and more, these dark beasts are not simply roaming wild, but are working toward some dread purpose that bodes ill for all of Tamriel. Be warned—while you might have encountered these beasts in previous Elder Scrolls games, this new monstrous host is united in purpose and has more than a few surprises in store for Skyrim’s defenders.

The Greymoor Chapter contains a stand-alone story, but it’s also part of a larger narrative, called the Dark Heart of Skyrim. Beginning with February’s Harrowstorm DLC and continuing with Greymoor and two yet-to-be-announced DLCs, the story you can experience in the new Chapter is a major part of the year-long adventure. Don’t worry if this sounds daunting—you can jump in to any of the year’s content at any point and still experience a unique, compelling story.

If you’d like to play as one of Greymoor’s monsters, the team has also re-vamped the Vampire Skill line with Update 26 (arriving free for all ESO players the same day as the Chapter). This includes new and updated abilities, greater incorporation into ESO’s Justice System (using certain Vampire abilities in public is considered a criminal act—be careful!), and new feeding animations.

This includes the new ultimate ability that turns your character into a terrifying Blood Scion, increasing your Health, Stamina, and Magicka while also healing you for a percentage of damage caused!

While undoubtedly powerful, becoming a Vampire in ESO has its consequences, and as you feed and increase your powers, you risk losing touch with your humanity. In true ESO fashion, how you choose to balance your new powers with the curse is completely up to you!

If you love compelling tales that are full of interesting characters and complex villains, the Greymoor storyline brings fear and darkness to the Nords of Western Skyrim. In addition to the new Chapter, with Update 26’s Vampire improvements, you can fight monsters with monsters as you struggle with your own curse and discover the dark heart within yourself. You’ve been warned!

Part of the Dark Heart of Skyrim year-long adventure, The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor and Update 26 arrive June 9 for Xbox One. Pre-purchase Greymoor now digitally to receive unique bonus rewards and gain immediate access to the Holdbreaker Warhorse in-game mount (digital only—conditions apply). Don’t miss out!
