Xbox Play Anywhere Title Songbringer Now Available
Songbringer has been unleashed on Xbox One and Windows 10 so we thought we’d take a moment to give you some helpful hints for starting your own pixel-perfect space adventure.
Explore, Explore, Explore
Songbringer maps are generated by you, intrepid explorer. A game starts with a 6-letter world seed which mixes up your overworld and dungeon map layout. It also decides where those elusive secrets are hidden. Spend some time exploring your surroundings to reveal your map, which will help you know where the dungeons, stores and other tasty points of interest are hidden.
Reorganize Your Hot Bar
Songbringer is a game of combat so it’s important to know your boomerang style tophat drone from your nanosword. Your controls are customizable so have a play with your weapon order to find out what works best for you. It’s no good trying to lob your hat at a ranged enemy and accidentally dropping a bomb on yourself.
By the Numbers
While it’s up to you to decide what order you’d like to play Songbringer’s 10 dungeons, it’s also worth pointing out that they’re numbered on your map! Hey, we’re not stopping you from running into dungeon 8 or 9 before you’ve even collected your weapons but you might want to consider starting low on your first run…
It’s All in the Timing
Listen, I like smashing baddies with swords as much as the next person but that’s just not going to wash on the mean streets (dungeon corridors count) of Ekzera. Sometimes you’ll need to watch your enemies, particularly the bosses, and figure out their fighting style. An approach which works for a cute squishy slime dude probably won’t wash with a mega sand worm.
Trust the Cactus
Taking a munch on one of the games’ hallucinogenic cacti won’t only give you the ability to see hidden passages, it’ll also give you a substantial boost in fights. It’ll refill some of your health and make you invulnerable to damage for a short time. In tougher fights this could make all of the difference.
Songbringer is available now on Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning cross-buy and cross-save between the Xbox One and Windows 10 Store versions. For more information and future updates, you can follow Wizard Fu on Twitter as well as publisher Double Eleven.
