Conquer Oxeye’s Cobalt with These Helpful Tutorial Videos

Oxeye Game Studio and Mojang’s crazy, action-packed sidescroller Cobalt hits Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC tomorrow – and the good folks at Oxeye have assembled a quartet of tutorial videos to help bring you up to speed on all that Cobalt has to offer. We can’t stress enough how absolutely chaotic this game can get, so it’s important to nail the basics!

Time Dilation
In Cobalt, threats prompt a time dilation mechanic, slowing things down and allowing you to pull off some of the coolest bullet-time shenanigans this side of “The Matrix.” This video demonstrates some of the cool things that can occur around this mechanic.

Offense
You’ll have to take on all manner of threats in Cobalt, and you have quite a few deft moves at your disposal to help you kick butt and get the heck out of harm’s way. This video will teach you how to aim, how to watch your back (literally), and how to use the game’s physics to your advantage, among other things.

Defense
Dodging, shooting incoming projectiles, and ramming into things to deflect them are your three primary modes of defense in Cobalt – and its can get pretty fast and frantic. This video shows you how it’s done.

Flashbangs
Your handy-dandy flashbang grenades can be used for a multitude of useful things, including stunning enemies, blinding enemies (which gives you a massive advantage on a target by negating its line of fire), and destroying the pesky shields that prevent you from dealing damage.

You can grab Cobalt tomorrow on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC for $19.99 or local equivalent. Get ready for one of the best sidescrollers you’ll play all year!
