Halo Collectibles Take Center Stage at Toy Fair 2015
The world of Halo is in full force at Toy Fair 2015 in New York City, with everything from models, to action figures, to some of the blasters we’ve seen. It’s a good year to be a Halo collector.
Mattel and BOOMco have teamed up with Halo developer 343 Industries to bring fans authentic blasters from the Halo universe. James Monosmith, Marketing Manager for Halo Consumer Products at 343 Industries, says they will allow kids (and adults!) to enjoy Halo in an all new way
“It’s one of the first time we’re bringing the Halo world to life with authentic blasters. You’ll be able to have that Halo experience in the real world,” said Monosmith.
These aren’t your average dart shooters – everything in the Halo BOOMco arsenal also sports unique features that mirror their video game counterparts. For example, the BOOMco Halo Covenant Needler features a rapid-firing clip and light-up chamber that replicates the glowing, zipping effect found in the video game when unloading a barrage of rounds at enemies. In addition to the Needler, Mattel announced the Covenant Carbine Blaster and UNSC Magnum. Office dart battles are about to get a lot more intense.
Fans of the Halo MEGA Bloks line will be able to get their hands on the new line of Halo 5: Guardians sets this year, including a Promethean Phaeton Gunship and the frighteningly cool UNSC Scorpion Tank. These are some of the biggest MEGA Bloks sets we’ve ever seen, and according to Monosmith, some of the MEGA Bloks toys feature sneak peeks into the plot of Halo 5: Guardians.
“There are some characters showcased here that we’re not ready to reveal yet, but we’ll let the fans speculate on who they might be,” Monosmith teased.
Other toys and collectibles featured at the event include two new lines of Halo action figures from McFarlane Toys. Series 3 of the Halo 4: Spartan Ops line features four new figures, and McFarlane Toys also showed off the brand-new Master Chief figure from its upcoming Halo 5: Guardians line.
And model builders will love the new kits from Bandai and Dark Horse. Bandai revealed their SprüKits Spartan Jameson Locke, and Dark Horse showed off the replicas for the UNSC Pelican and the UNSC Infinity
These – and the other Halo toys revealed at Toy Fair 2015 – are all in the prototype stages, though most are set to release later this year. This is just a taste of all the awesome Halo products that are coming out in 2015. As we inch ever-closer to the Xbox One release of Halo 5: Guardians, you can expect a lot more Halo swag to tie in with what’s sure to be one of the biggest video game launches of all-time.
