Borderlands 3 - Bloody Harvest

Borderlands 3’s Free Bloody Harvest Event Kicks Off October 24 on Xbox One

Halloween is almost upon us, which means Borderlands 3’s first free seasonal content update is nigh!

Today we’re excited to announce that Bloody Harvest goes live on Xbox One on Thursday, October 24 and will remain live through December 5, giving you plenty of time to experience all the spooky new challenges and collect all the sweet thematically-appropriate loot.

But just how spooky are those challenges? And exactly how sweet is the loot? Fair questions! Check out the trailer above for a quick taste of what’s in store, then continue reading to learn more about how this event will work.

Did you watch it!? Dope, right? Now that you’re sufficiently hyped about the new boss battle, seasonal skins, unique Legendary weapon, and all of that, let’s dig into the details.

From Vault Hunter to Ghost Hunter

First of all, please note that all Borderlands 3 players can download and enjoy all the Bloody Harvest content at no additional cost. Yuuup. Free! However, you will need to reach your ship – Sanctuary III – at the end of the campaign’s prologue before you can pursue the newly added content.

Borderlands 3 - Bloody Harvest

Once you’ve made it off Pandora and spoken with Maurice – your new scaly Saurian pal who’s taken up residence aboard Sanctuary III – you’ll start to encounter Haunted enemies around the galaxy. Wipe out these Haunted enemies and you’ll earn Hecktoplasm that can be presented to Maurice. Submit enough Hecktoplasm and you’ll be granted entry into the Bloody Harvest map.

Beware, though: coming into contact with the Ghosts that rise from the bodies of slain Haunted enemies will induce the new Terror debuff, which haunts the player and diminishes your gun handling, spread, and accuracy. And once you actually reach the event map, things only grow more treacherous…

Scary Stuff and How to Kill It

So, what untold terrors await you ask? How about rivers of blood filled with Ratch? Or maybe some undead Maliwan soldiers who crawl out of graves? Why not a giant boss who’s, like, 90% glowing skull? Bloody Harvest features all that and more – but the good news is, those brave enough to conquer these horrors will be rewarded in kind.

Bloody Harvest’s new unique rewards include all of the following: Legendary weapons, Vault Hunter skins, a weapon skin, a weapon trinket, an echo device skin, a grenade mod, and a shield mod. There is also new Anointed Gear! Basically, if you want to be decked out head to toe in the spookiest gear around, Bloody Harvest can make that happen.

Naturally, there are a few additional surprises in store, but we’ll let you discover those on your own. For now, just remember to install the latest version of Borderlands 3 after the patch containing Bloody Harvest goes live by or before 3 p.m. PDT on Thursday, October 24.

If you can’t wait until Thursday, consider heading over to borderlands.com to learn more about our ongoing Borderlands Anniversary Celebration, which marks the 10-year anniversary of the franchise with weekly in-game bonuses for Borderlands 3 through the month of October (and a little bit of November).
