Xbox Insiders – Help bring the new Game Pass Core experience to life

Last month we announced Xbox Game Pass Core, the evolution of Xbox Live Gold. Game Pass Core will give players access to our advanced multiplayer network, a select collection of over 25 games to play with friends around the world, and exclusive member deals, all for $9.99 USD per month or $59.99 USD per year.

Starting this week, Xbox Live Gold members in the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead ring will be able to preview Xbox Game Pass Core. As the changes roll out, you will begin to gain access to select titles – Psychonauts 2, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, State of Decay 2, and Doom Eternal – as part of your new Game Pass Core library. The full library will become accessible at launch on September 14. You will also start to see Xbox Live Gold branding updated to Game Pass Core. If you’re already a Gold member, everything will update automatically for you – there’s no action needed.

A few more things to keep in mind:

  • Changes will be rolling out throughout the month. Some parts of the experience will update ahead of others – some places will say “Xbox Live Gold” while others say “Game Pass Core.” This is to be expected, but please still file feedback via Report a Problem if you find Xbox Live Gold branding to help us catch anything we missed.
  • You can continue to access any Xbox One games previously redeemed through Games with Gold in My Games and Apps if you remain a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate member.
  • Regardless of subscription status, any Xbox 360 titles redeemed via Games with Gold in the past will be kept in your library.

Thank you for taking part in this experience and sharing feedback with us! Your input is a key part of the process as we work to evolve Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Core.
