Our goal as the development team was to create an experience that is both deeply immersive and has a strong sense of realism. We want players to feel even closer to the experience of carrying out a dangerous stealth mission in the remote wilderness.

We are taking full advantage of Unreal Engine 5’s cutting-edge technology to recreate every stage of the game, which allows us to render highly detailed environments. Players can fully immerse themselves in realistic jungle, forest, and swamp landscapes, navigating the plentiful vegetation and encountering wildlife.

The updated depiction of battlefield injuries also adds an additional layer of realism to the remake. Injuries sustained by Snake, from bruises and cuts to bullet wounds, will appear in real time. These wounds will leave their mark on Snake, changing his appearance in unique ways based on each player’s experiences.

The remake also incorporates new and intuitive controls that allow players to more fully immerse themselves in the thrill of survival. This new control system, called New Style, has a third-person camera view and modern control scheme for players to enjoy.

We also have maintained a second control type, called Legacy Style, for players who wish to experience the remake using the overhead camera and control scheme employed in the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Players will be able to switch between the two styles any time during gameplay.

Fans around the world have enjoyed Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in the 20 years since its original release. Now, with Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, we are striving to maintain the enjoyment of that original experience, while also presenting graphical improvements that allow for a new sense of realism and immersion. We think this will present a fresh experience that both new players and longtime fans alike can appreciate, and we hope you’re all looking forward to it.
